4 Boscher fans
This new close-up once again shows the sureness of the artist's hand.
But we also want to show you that, despite appearances, those fans with Paris views are just as much "Louis XV" as the other two, even if we don't see anyone dressed in the old times fashion!
Indeed, the Place de la Concorde was originally called "Place Louis XV" eries of screens sing the praises, and from which we extract this details
En effet, la place de la Concorde s'appelait à l'origine "Place Louis XV", and where the obelisk of Luxor given by Egypt to France now stands, a statue of the King had been erected. On this occasion, a series of hand screens sang the King's praises : from one of them we extract this detail.
Thus we see that to create our watercolor fans located at Place de la Concorde, the painter Boscher placed himself for one of the fans almost at the location occupied by the author of this engraving, and for the other at the foot of the current obelisk, that is to say the statue of King Louis XV, whose spirit so many of Boscher's works wanted to recall!
And, thanks of course to another fan, we will leave the Place de la Concorde with a quick stay at the Crillon hotel, one of the most prestigious palaces in Paris... One night there costs the price of several of our fans!
