Let us compare some details :

copyrights Collection Serge Davoudian ______________________________ Collection C & PH B.

And now some close up to the quite smilar fan of our american friend,  Gary Miron :

Thesedifferent scenes are obviously copied one from the other,... or drawn after the same engraving (but which?). However, please have a closer look to the man who moves the merry-go-round.
What do you notice? Would another close-up picture help you ?

collection C. & P.H. B. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------collection Gary Myron

On the left, the man pushes in the good direction, and ... the Merry goes round ! But on the right, it is clear that if he pushes thus, the roundabout will soon stop ! Moreover, a young girl installed on a seat on the left, turns to a spectator on the right!!!

Such errors (or divergences) in copies are rather frequent, and we could show some, in particular when fans were manufactured in China on European patterns and after european engravings, or (other side) when European peintresses wanted to reproduce Chinese scenes or exotic animals. But this is another story...
